Quilt Blocks with the Trouvaille and Pure Solids fabric collections by Art Gallery Fabrics

We’ve recently made some beautiful quilt blocks using fabric from two collections by Art Gallery Fabrics: Trouvaille for the center prints, and Pure Solids for the rest of the blocks.  We took advantage of some wonderful sunny days to photograph the blocks.

The final quilt will be 180 x 220 cm when all the blocks are assembled and the border sewn on.  It’s going to be a challenge to photograph properly!

Speaking of quilt photography, how do you all like to photograph your projects?  Do you take a lot of in-progress shots, or do you wait until it’s mostly finished?  It’s always a little challenging to take photos that really show the quilts at their best.

This summer, one of our favorite photography spots was along the wooden fence.  With fall fast approaching, we’re thinking about how to photograph our work when it’s gray and possibly rainy outside.  What are your solutions for indoor quilt photography?
