Solstice Sampler Sew-Along

I’ve joined the Sew-Along for the Solstice Sampler, hosted by Alderwood Studio!  I’m excited to make these patchwork blocks, especially because each of the nine blocks is designed by a different designer.  I love being able to learn new techniques and support all the amazing designers in the quilting community at the same time.  Each block has its own style, but the overall effect is very harmonious and full of holiday cheer!

I’m a little behind in getting started and to help me jump into the project more quickly, I started with the second block because it seemed a little easier.  This block is called North Wind and is designed by the Great Heron Thread Co.  I really like the combination of the quarter square and half square triangles.

Here are my individual little blocks, which I was able to sew up pretty quickly:

And here is the full, finished block. I’m happy with the project so far!

Going forward, this is my chosen color palette, using Cotton Couture Solids by Michael Miller Fabrics, all of which are available in the Shop.

Now I need to go back and get caught up by tackling the first block in the Sew-Along, the Starlight block designed by Alderwood Studio!
