Inspiration for 2025

I’m slowly starting to think about my quilting projects for this coming year. I remembered a pattern that I made a while ago and the colors immediately reminded me of my original inspiration for this pattern: my favorite mug that I bought in a shop in Des Moines, Iowa during a family visit.

This image that I found on Pinterest (I don’t know the artist) evokes the spirit of the Great Plains for me and it found its place in one of the Vision Boards that I created this year to help me with my 2025 goal setting and planning.

This is an example of part of my Vision Board, with pictures cut out of magazines and printed from the computer, the old-fashioned way. :)

I really enjoyed this process; I reconnected with my inner child and it allowed me to better organize my thoughts. Basically, emotions and feelings guided my choices, and the result is a reminder of my values, my origins, and my uniqueness.

If you want to see more of my inspiration, go check out my Pinterest boards! While you’re having fun on Pinterest, why not some music? I listen to this song regularly and I find that the lyrics evoke the same mood as my Vision Board. The colors (and the song) invite me to think a little about spring, and sunnier days, but without forgetting the riches of winter.

For even more inspiration for your 2025 projects, I recommend this article (from 2023, but still relevant) by Goodmoods which highlights textile arts and patchwork/quilting in particular. The styles represented are timeless and modern at the same time, in my opinion.

Whatever your approach to finding inspiration, I hope that you too can slowly start dreaming and planning your future projects.
